25 Magical Photos to Make You Fall in Love With Salzburg

Salzburg is easily one of the most magical cities in Europe. If you’re a music lover, you probably know it as Mozart’s birthplace, and if you’re a movie lover, you know it as the filming location of the much-beloved Sound of Music.

There is, of course, much more to this European gem. I had my contributor, Nicole, meet up with the lovely Sabine from Salzburg’s tourism office to learn more about the city during her brief stay. Nicole made it her mission to show off more than Sound of Music or Mozart locations. Whether it’s the winding, narrow pathways of Old Town, its world-renowned Baroque architecture, or the snow covered Untersberg, I’m convinced you’re about to fall in love with these magical photos of Salzburg.

  2. Salzburg looks stunning. It’s a place that I’ve never really thought about visit before to be honest. I love (and really miss) the quaintness of little streets and alleyways in Europe. I’m definitely going to add Salzburg to my list of places to see :)

  3. So there are certain places that I feel just look better in the wintertime, and I think Salzburg is certainly one of them. I can’t imagine seeing all of this in person; it is dreamy and fairytale-esque. I hope to see this with my own eyes someday!

  4. Just when I thought I wanted a tropical getaway! Now I want a beautiful winter getaway in Salzburg! These photos are gorgeous, I especially love the shots of the streets with the beautiful buildings like the pink Furst building! They kind of remind me of something out of a Wes Anderson movie! I think I would prefer to visit this time of year too!
