#Korea Week 2 – Currently Traveling

Truthfully there isn’t much to report this week. I heard back from my coordinator that they received my application, and my co-teachers have updated me on reference letters and proof teaching experience, but other than that it’s been pretty quiet.

Mostly because I’m currently traveling! I stayed with my sister in Philadelphia Sunday night, took a (very late) Megabus to DC Monday where I met up with my friend, and then we left for Chile on Tuesday.

After about two days of travel, we finally made it to San Pedro de Atacama where the scenery is gorgeous, but the wi-fi is nearly nonexistent. Just writing this quickly to share one of my favorite photos so far! There’s too many to choose from, but I’ll have to wait to do any proper photo editing since I managed to lose the cord for my external hard drive somewhere between Panama and Santiago… Anyhow here’s the photo

Isn’t it gorgeous? It’s from our stargazing experience the other night (more on that in an upcoming post), and that’s the Milky Way. Part of our experience was learning how to photograph the stars, and I feel like I’ve learned a little trick!

We head out to Santiago today! It’s been an adventurous few days, so we’re looking forward to spending all Sunday vegging out in our Airbnb and catching up on e-mails and writing assignments since most places will be closed anyway. I definitely need to come back in the future!

Anyhow, on the to-do list for Korea when I get home is gathering my FBI background check paperwork and working on getting copies of my diploma. Also getting a new pair of trekking sneakers and running sneakers since I’m definitely chucking my current pair out before we leave.
